The inaugural Henley Womens' Regatta was way back in 1988 where Annabel and the National Eight won a tough race against Thames Rowing Club. They were disappointed that there were no souvenir T-shirts to mark their win. So in 1989 Annabel and two friends printed 150 souvenir T-shirts for the regatta which sold out in two hours. For fifteen years Annabel funded her International rowing career by selling T-shirts at rowing events.<\/p>
Back then screen printing was the only way to print a T-shirt and to maximise profit margins you had to print several at a time. Stock control was a nightmare. Annabel is a classically trained Fine Artist but the switch to T-shirt design in 1989 meant a speedy jump into the world of graphics and computers. Her work is varied and ranges from intricate pencil drawings and paintings to the crisp, contemporary designs seen on the T-shirts in these collections. <\/p>
Annabel has just been commissioned as one of only six worldwide Olympian Artists to produce a range of work for the Paris 2024 Olympics. <\/p>
